MTB Made Easy

Ride.
The George Tasmania is proper trailside mountain bike accommodation — the kind where you roll out of bed, clip in, and you're sessioning berms before breakfast. Our luxury eco pods sit at the gateway to the George Town Mountain Bike Trails, giving you instant access to over 100km of purpose-built singletrack across two networks.
-
Shred.
This is Tasmania's newest MTB destination, and you're staying at ground zero. Mount George and Tippogoree Hills offer everything from flowy green trails to grin-inducing, tech-heavy black runs — all within pedalling distance of your pod. Whether you're warming up on green flow or sending it on blacks, you've got 100km to explore.
-
Recharge.
When you're done thrashing yourself, you've got ocean views, local beer & wines, and the kind of luxury digs that make recovery days actually feel like holidays. 270° views — this is MTB accommodation that respects the whole experience, not just the descents.
Tasmania's MTB Scene: Where George Town Fits
Tasmania has quietly become one of the world's premier mountain biking destinations. Between Blue Derby's iconic trails, St Helens' coastal riding, and now George Town's purpose-built networks, the North-East offers hundreds of kilometres of world-class singletrack within a two-hour radius.
The North-East Tasmania MTB Triangle:
George Town (2 minutes): 100km+ of trails at your door, newest network in the region, less crowded than Blue Derby, uplift available
Blue Derby (1 hour): Tasmania's most famous MTB destination, iconic trails, world-class flow, excellent café scene
St Helens (2 hours): Coastal riding, different terrain, beautiful scenery, perfect for extending your trip
By staying at The George, you're positioned perfectly to hit all three destinations without constantly packing up and changing accommodation. George Town becomes your home base — ride local trails most days, road trip to Blue Derby or St Helens when you want variety, and always come back to ocean views and proper luxury recovery.
