Finding The George Tasmania

You’ll find The George Tasmania perched at the top of Mount George Road, just minutes from George Town in Northern Tasmania—and a rather lovely world away from the everyday.

When you reach the top, take the first gate and driveway on the left. If the views suddenly become spectacular, you’re very close.

From Launceston

Follow the East Tamar Highway (A8) north towards George Town—approximately 35 minutes or 48.5 km. Just before town, turn right onto Mount George Road, then continue 2.2 km uphill to the top.

Yes, all the way up. The view is worth it.

From the West Tamar

Follow the West Tamar Highway (A7), turn off at Sidmouth (B73) and cross the Batman Bridge. Join the East Tamar Highway (A8) and turn left towards George Town.

Turn right onto Mount George Road and continue 2.2 km to the top.
