Getting Here

You’ll find us perched right at the top of Mount George Road, just a few minutes from George Town — and a world away from the everyday. First gate/driveway on the left when you reach the top.

From Launceston

Follow the East Tamar Highway (A8) north towards George Town (about 35 minutes / 48.5 km). Just before you reach town, turn right onto Mount George Road. Continue 2.2 km uphill to the very top.

From the West Tamar

Coming via the West Tamar Highway (A7) Turn off at Sidmouth (B73), cross the Batman Bridge, and join the East Tamar Highway (A8). Turn left towards George Town, then follow the same route — right onto Mount George Road, continue 2.2 km to the top.

Parking

  • Pod guests: Secure dedicated onsite parking is available.

  • Café bar patrons: Parking available weekends and public holidays only.

  • The George Tasmania is NOT open to the general public.
