Set high above the meeting of the Tamar River and the sea, your Pod opens to 270° of breathtaking panorama. Tasmania’s flavours, stories, vineyards, and wild places sit within easy reach — though many guests find the deck hard to leave.

Our onsite café bar serves curated Tasmanian fare and exceptional coffee, with local wines, brews and ciders to follow (liquor licence pending 🤞). All paired, of course, with those sweeping river-meets-ocean views.
Laze on the lawn (currently being established… but oh so green 🌿), sink into a deck chair, or gather by our mini Stonehenge-style firepit — and let the calm, the conversation, and the landscape do their thing.
Our very first The George Gourmet BBQ + Live Music Lawn Party event is slated for September 2026 — limited prepaid tickets only. Consider this your early heads-up.

Trails That Start at Your Door
With 100 km of world-class mountain bike trails at your door, adventure starts instantly. The Mount George MTB trailhead sits 200 metres from your pod, offering flow trails for beginners through to seasoned thrill-seekers.
Minutes away, the Tippogoree Hills MTB trails push the limits even further. For Tasmanian MTB, The George is the ideal Northern Tassie basecamp — eco-luxe pods, big views and trail access so close you can roll straight out of bed and ride.
From Burnout to Breathtaking
Eight years ago, we swapped corporate chaos for something slower, saner… and a little bit wild. Life had become a blur of pressure, pace and never quite switching off — and we and our kids were craving normalcy and calm.
Somewhere mid-flight for work (again), an in-flight magazine article planted the seed — what if we created a place to step off the treadmill completely? Not just for us — but for all the overstressed, always-on people we knew so well… our former selves, our friends, our family.
Somewhere far from a city, somewhere extra special. Slower, more meaningful. A place to reset. Breathe. And remember what calm actually feels like. ✨
And so, The George Tasmania was born.
